Finding Kundalini Yoga

Michele was working as a life coach when she set two goals for herself: travel to India on her own, and find a practice that would help her grow spiritually. She found it at the International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh, where the very first session she attended was Kundalini Yoga with Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa.

Back home, she trained with Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa and Gurushabd Singh at Golden Bridge in New York City and became a KRI certified Kundalini Yoga teacher. She went on to complete all five KRI Level 2 teacher trainings and returned to India for a second pilgrimage along the Ganges.

The O’Shea Yoga Studio

Michele opened O’Shea Yoga to share the practice that had helped her heal. She brought live gong playing into her teaching, and the studio hosted workshops and Kirtans with well-known Kundalini teachers and musicians, including Amanbir Singh, who came back to teach several times.

She also took members of the O’Shea Yoga community to Sat Nam Fest in the Berkshires, and the studio offered its first Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training.

Teaching Today

When the pandemic closed the studio, Michele moved her teaching online, and during those years she recorded a library of about 30 Kundalini Yoga sessions and meditations. She has since moved on from the studio, but she never stopped teaching.

Today she leads an in-person Kundalini Reset workshop every month, and she is opening her recorded library to the community as a gift in the O’Shea Yoga app, coming soon.
